Who I am

I am a former TV news reporter and current consultant/writer. I left my home in Japan to live in the US with my husband who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. We currently live in New York. I took a 3-month online course for bonbon making in early 2021. Feeling the acute need for hands-on training, I contacted the chocolate school at Valrhona (fine chocolate couverture maker) in Brooklyn, where only professionals were allowed to participate, and I was accepted. I have continued my training with Chefs Ramon Morato, Melissa Coppel, Frank Haasnoot, and Angel Betancourt, all globally renowned chocolatier/pastry chefs.
